Service Description

Join us for a hands-on, two-day woodworking workshop where you’ll create a custom, handcrafted cutting board while learning the foundational skills of woodworking. This beginner-friendly class introduces essential tools, materials, and techniques through a guided project you’ll actually use and be proud to take home. Students will learn how wood is selected, prepared, shaped, glued, sanded, and finished, with demonstrations and hands-on practice throughout the process. Class Dates: Day 1: Tuesday, July 14, 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM Day 2: Tuesday, July 21, 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM On Day 1, we’ll cover shop safety and the basics of working with common woodworking tools and materials. Students will learn about different types of wood, wood grain direction, wood glue, clamps, basic hand tools, and safe operation of equipment like the table saw and planer. By the end of the first workshop, each student will have a glued-up cutting board that will dry and cure before the next session. On Day 2, we’ll clean up and finish the boards. Students will plane their boards flat, cut them square, sand and shape the edges, add rubber feet, and have the option to learn how handle grooves can be cut using the router table. If the engraving upgrade was purchased, this session will also include custom personalization. We’ll finish by applying a food-safe oil to bring out the natural beauty of the wood.
